Charity, Generosity & Projects.

Hi everyone! How are you doing? Its currently a very rainy miserable day where I am. I came back home for a few days for a bit of a break.

A month ago we (the youth team) challenged the youth to raise as much money as they can for the Ukraine. I am honestly so blown away by how much they have been raising and all the effort they have put into it!

The youth have done everything from a bake sale, a sponsored bike ride (50 miles total), to even a mini triathlon! How incredible is that? They really took to this project and it has made the youth team incredibly proud of them!

Over the course of Thursday and Friday, myself and the head youth worker went to multiple shops, collecting various items that the charity we are working alongside listed. We had a conversation with this one guy who worked in one of the shops, he mentioned that it was his day off and asked us why we have bought all the stuff we had.

We explained what it was for and he was really amazed by the generosity of the youth. The Friday evening session was made up of us packing bags to pass onto the charity. It was a very interesting experience, some of the youth took “One of each” quite literally! There where a variety of single tea bags in the rucksacks!

Even so it was really lovely to see them put so much thought into the packs. We even wrote little welcome cards, prayers and letters to the strangers who will be recieving the packs.

I think we can all learn a lot from young people, they are just so aware of current issues and situations. They are so ready to change the world, I feel almost honoured being these young peoples youth leader. They are truly one of the most passionate and selfless group I have ever worked with. They have a beautiful heart to them.

If you are working with a group please take some time out to plan something like this, it is super rewarding, not just for you but the young people and the people reciving the gifts will definately be thankful for them.

That is all for today, if you do want any information to help out with the Ukraine, please let me know and I can send you a few good links! Thankyou for reading, stay safe!
