Endings & Processing

Wow, one whole month without blogging? I am not even going to apologise at this point, since I’m not very reliable with this blog (let us be honest!) It is not necessarily a bad thing! Thankyou for being patient though.

So, its been about two weeks since I finished my gap year. I moved home again, I haven’t unpacked everything yet, there is a few bits that still need sorting out. I am currently on holiday, which has been pretty ok really. I’ve had a few days either feeling bad about not being busy or just not being in a good state of mind. I am in a bit of a bad mental state at the moment but I think its been mostly due to tiredness.

The Summer youth party was a lot of fun, after the initial last minute panicking! We had a silent disco, lots of ice cream, sweets and music. There was even a photobooth set up. We had a good amount show up and it was lovely. After packing everything away, we got taken back home, except I was house (and dog) sitting. Buckle in, I have a fun story.

Imagine, its midnight. The weather is lovley, the temperature is just right. Many ice creams and snacks have been consummed. After a long busy day you arrive to a beautiful house, you say your goodbyes to the youth team and go to the front door. In goes your temporary key when suddenly you find that the door is…locked. You check you have used the right key and try again.

15 minutes pass and you still cannot get in. You’re locked out and your accomodation for the past year is a 30 minute walk away, you also don’t think it is a bright idea walking there, in the dark, past midnight… That and your key for that accomodation is locked inside the house you are stood outside of. You’re locked out and the group of youth leaders are waiting in the car making sure you get inside.

After three phone calls the people I was house sitting for responded, they had just gone to bed and locked the door. It was rather embarrassing! As I mentioned I was also looking after their dog which was, an experience, to say the least! I won’t go into all that now, maybe on the next blog? Let me know!

After another two weeks it was the Summer Camp. It was definately a last minute rush planning the little things (like food) but we got it all sorted! The camp was definately good for the youth, they certainly changed throughout the week. A few things came up with a couple of young people coming to join us but nothing to bad, another issue involved a recurring theme of something through the past year.

I can’t go into detail about the latter situation, it did however ruin my time at the camp and had me crying for most of the day as well as the evening. People didn’t really help the situation, since they couldn’t just leave it be. It honestly upset me an awful lot, I’m trying to just forget it but I am still upset about it and its nearly been a full two weeks. I feel that the situation should and could have been resolved better but, what can I do now?

Anyway. I am on holiday and if you follow my socials you might already know that I chose to not be on social media this week, if I’m being honest I haven’t done a good job at that! I do however only take a peak and come off my socials. My phone is currently in my bedroom, away from my fingers and temptation! Just wanted to let you know since I’ll be posting this without giving a heads up on my socials. (you should really follow them… no pressure)

I think I’ll be processing the past year a lot so there might be more regular blog posts, instagram posts and story uploads. Please remain patient with me, thankyou for the support and if you have dropped me a message, I will do my best to respond once I am back on socials!

Stay safe everyone, thanks for reading, have a great rest of your day! You are amazing.
