Hi everyone! This blog has reached 265 regular readers, from all over the world, which is truly incredible to me! Thankyou so much for your continued support.
Since my last blog post I feel like I am in a better headspace then I was. Things are still pretty much the same, with a few exciting oportunities popping up, it isn’t much but it is definately progress!
Over the past few days I have been rather productive which I’m proud of. It is nice to feel like I am achieving things, even though it is the minimum. As for jobs, I haven’t got one yet but I have a few things in the line that are looking more positive.
It was raining really badly last night, there was an incredible storm. The lightning was super impressive and I just sat on my bedroom floor, looking out the window. It was nice ish-weather today (when I write this not when its posted). I headed into the city centre of my home city around lunch time today, the weather got better and by the time I was on the bus home, it started lashing it down!
I got a little bit soggy on my walk from the bus stop to my house unfortunately, as soon as I got in though the cosy pyjamas went on and I made myself a green tea. I’ve definately had a productive day today and considering I didn’t really want to do the trek into town, I surprised myself how much I actually needed it. I needed a change.
I mooched around a few shops, spoke to a few people who are hiring for jobs, and spotted an older gentlemen, who I know from years back, but I haven’t seen him for a few years. We had a lovely little catch up before I headed to a nice book store. I’ve been trying to get back into reading but I don’t really know where to start? If you have any book recommendations, please do drop me a message on instagram or a comment here.
I love a good book shop, they’re usually so chilled out. This particular shop has a few memories from my 17 year self, including a certain situation with a boy… If you want that story, let me know… it is rather entertaining! Anyway I decided to treat myself to a nice little lunch which was nice and most tasty.
On the way home I bumped into a friend who I haven’t seen for two years. It was such a random encounter! We had a good chat though which was nice. I kind of love these random days, I feel like they always come at the right time for me. I have been struggling to adapt being back home again and I feel like I am finally starting to process the end of the gap year, so having a day like today has really helped.
I’ve shed a few tears so far. Nothing major yet. I am starting to miss the academy bubble I was in the whole of last year, I miss the friends I have made and the support system that I had developed. Of course I know these friendships, and the support system isn’t going anywhere.
Yesterday I had a lovely little call with two of the academy people from last year, we had a good catch up and a pray together which was nice. My sister also came home from her South Africa trip with her fiance and his family on Sunday. Its nice to have her back, considering the last time I saw her, was maybe second to last week of July!
I think I’ll leave this very, life-updatey-blog post here! Once again thankyou for the support, you are all very wonderful!
Stay safe, Em x
