Evening everyone (for me anyway), I’m sorry there was no blog post last week. I haven’t had much time to sit down & write, I started work again nearly 3 weeks ago (I think) & I already feel like I have been working for 7 weeks!

On my last blog post I spoke about timings & well, I have an update! I applied for a permanent job at the current placement I am in. I got the job! At the same time as that, the school I applied to work in back in October last year got back to me & invited me for an interview.

I chose to decline the interview. I was torn for most of the past week, I did enjoy working at the school but it was only an interview. The interview wouldn’t necessarily mean I would get the job. I chose to take the job I am currently in. It made more sense, more pro’s than con’s.

For instance, the school I applied for in October is harder to get to in terms of transport, it was more mentally exhausting & getting my mental health in a better place still needs a lot of work. I could see myself working there maybe in the future, when I am mentally in a better place.

I want to be able to give my absolute best in a job role & right now, in the current school I am working in I feel as though I am for this time period. I am thinking of working here for a few years before maybe moving elsewhere. Knowing I have a job to wake up & go to is such a relief.

The team is incredible with the kids & the staff have each other’s back. I have made some really great connections with the kids. Which if you have experience working with kids, you’ll know that is an achievement by itself!
