Across the world an awareness walk will be taking place. On Saturday 19th October 2024, in multiple cities across the world will be clothed in all black, walking in single file, in complete silence.

Walk For Freedom works to stop modern day slavery, human trafficking. There is millions of victims around the globe, men, women & children. Not many people realise slavery still takes place today, no matter the color of your skin. Human Trafficking is not just one age group, one gender or race.

For multiple years I have taken part in this walk, it is incredibly powerful. The people who walk do not shout, we do not speak & we do this to emphasise what victims go through. They are not allowed to speak unless it is scripted, they cannot be left alone & their very existence is controlled.

Victims usually have no identification, they not be able to speak your language, they may look under fed, bruised or unkempt. The scariest thing about all this, is it could be happening in your very street. There are many horror stories about trafficking but there is survivors, I have known an individual who escaped trafficking.

This individual was moved all across the world, they bravely organised an escape for themselves and other victims. This incredibly brave group stormed their controllers & escaped. This individual is now a professional chef. For obvious reasons, this is a very vague description to protect this individual, I have no idea where they are now but I do know they are safe.

Organisations like “A21” do incredible work, often putting themselves in danger in order to save the many victims of this awful crime. I encourage you to look into this, support or make yourself aware of the signs of Human Trafficking. Let us end Modern Day Slavery for good.
